Contraception coverage
Under The Affordable Care Act, coverage of certain preventive services, including contraceptives, must be provided at no cost.
RCBP covers at least one form of contraception from each category as listed in the ACA/HRSA site. For a list of no cost contraceptives, download the list or go to Section 5(a), 5(b) and 5(f) of your official plan brochure for additional details. If your prescriber believes that a non-formulary contraceptive is medically necessary for you, your prescriber may request an exception. Please ask your provider to complete the Contraception Exception Form found in the Official Plan Documents to determine if the product is medically necessary. More information is available within the Contraception Exception Process.
