Behavioral health and well-being

Make time for your mental health and well-being.

The mind and body are connected. Feeling good physically works wonders mentally. The reverse is true, too. That’s why RCBP offers mental health resources to support the whole you, at every stage of your journey.

Depression treatment may be a multi-pronged approach where counseling, support (such as family and friends) and medication all play a part. The first step is understanding that it’s okay to have sad, even negative feelings and ask for help.

Working with your primary doctor and/or a mental health provider is key to finding the right treatment. Connect with your provider in person or virtually today.

RCBP can help you find a provider and connect you to programs and benefits to address your specific needs.

If you or someone you know is in immediate distress or thinking about hurting themselves, call the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline by simply dialing 988.

This new, shorter phone number makes it easier for people to remember and access mental health crisis services.

You can also text the word “Hello” to 741741, the Crisis Text Line. It is important to talk to someone now if you or a loved one needs help or are experiencing a crisis.

The Member support page can link you to what you need. Log in to your Aetna member website for self-help articles, videos, and National resources. Learn about depression, suicide prevention and other mental health conditions. Access the video library and Healthwise library.

A visit to your doctor or a behavior health specialist can help get you back on track after an ER visit or inpatient stay:

  • Review any medications
  • Review any ER/Inpatient Care records
  • Assess your overall mental health plan
  • Discuss treatment options

Tips to ensure that you get the right care at the right time:

  • Ask the hospital discharge planner to help set up an appointment with a BH counselor following your stay.
  • Call RCBP member services at 1-800-638-8432 (TTY: 711) to help locate an in-network provider; or provide details on a BH televideo provider.
  • Call RCBP member services at 1-800-638-8432 for help locating/scheduling a behavior health visit.

Medication management for better health

Some medical and behavioral health conditions such as high cholesterol, asthma, anxiety or depression may require medications to be taken over the long term.

  • Be sure to take your medications for as long as prescribed. Don’t stop taking them without talking to your doctor. Consider telehealth visits with your provider to discuss medication management and review a copy of your plan’s drug formulary for prescription benefits.
  • Take advantage of mail order to get your medications filled on time with fewer refills and less trips to the pharmacy.

RCBP also has programs and resources available to help you manage your conditions and medications.
