SilverScript® Employer Prescription Drug Plan (PDP) for RCBP
Retail pharmacy information
When you use a CVS Pharmacy®, you’re responsible for paying your deductible and coinsurance.
Because a CVS Caremark® Mail Service Pharmacy submits your claim electronically, you’ll avoid the hassle of submitting a paper claim.
You’re limited to your initial prescription and two refills at a non-participating pharmacy. You must use the CVS Caremark Mail Service Pharmacy or CVS Pharmacy for a continuing supply of a long-term medication after three fills.
When you use a non-participating pharmacy, you may have to pay your entire prescription amount up front. And, you’ll need to file a claim with us using the Pharmacy Claim form.
Save money and make the most of your benefit plan by choosing the generic or preferred brand equivalent. Be sure to share the Prescription Drug Guide/Formulary with your physician when a drug is prescribed.
Mail order pharmacy information
RCBP offers you a CVS Caremark® Mail Service Pharmacy benefit for covered prescription drugs that you take on an on-going basis, called maintenance medications. You also have the option to order your prescriptions via mail, internet or phone.
You can get up to a 90-day refill at a CVS Pharmacy® for the same cost as using CVS Caremark Mail Service Pharmacy for medications used to treat certain conditions such as:
- Asthma
- Diabetes
- High blood pressure
- High cholesterol
You’re limited to your initial prescription and two refills at a non-participating pharmacy. You can’t get a 90-day refill at a network retail pharmacy other than a CVS Pharmacy. If a CVS Pharmacy is not available in your area, you’ll need to use CVS Caremark Mail Service Pharmacy.
If you have a new mail order prescription that you will be using on an ongoing basis, ask your doctor to write two prescriptions for you.
- The first prescription should be for a 30-day supply that you can use right away at a retail pharmacy
- The second prescription should be used for a 90-day supply and should be sent to the CVS Caremark Mail Service Pharmacy using the Mail Order Form.
Once you know that you’ll be using this medication on an ongoing basis, send the second prescription to the mail-order pharmacy using the Mail Order Form.
Please note:
- Follow the instructions on the form carefully to avoid any processing delays
- Your order will be filled for the exact amount of medication prescribed by your doctor, so please check the quantity on your prescription slip to make sure it is correct
- Allow three weeks for delivery of your mail order prescriptions
